We were lucky enough to talk to the band, Pentire, they started off just making music for fun and then after seeing their progression of their music and as a band they said, “It’s been really cool to see our progression from young lads to what feels like almost a real band!”.

They stated that their songs are lyrically inspired by a lot of “different story lines”. Where as, the inspiration for writing songs has to be the thrill that they get from playing them live and hearing the crowd sing the words back to them!

Each member has other musicians that inspire them in terms of their own music, where as collectively they have all grown up with bands like Arctic Monkeys, Stereophonics and The Killers. “Recently though we’re all very into Inhaler”, as are we!

Pentire, formed when “Jack and Owen’s previous bands played a gig with eachother, before breaking up on the same day which was a total coincidence! So they decided to jam together”, they knew Josh from school and Jacob joined when Jack met him at uni. Which forms the band Pentire of today!

In five words the band would say they are “Energetic, danceable, something to see live!”

The goals the band had for the end of this year is to continue to working hard, pushing them selves as much as they can. “Radio 1 has always been a goal of ours which were yet to fulfil, and we would love to tour off our own backs at the end of this year/start of next year!” Which we sure they will!

The bands biggest challenge besides the worldwide pandemic would have to be living in different parts of the country as for uni is a struggle, but they have pushed through it and smoothed it out!

If Pentire could collaborate with any other band it would be, Anderson Paak, or even Vulfpeck they think they could make some cool tunes with them!

In five years the band would see themselves, “hopefully playing big stages at festivals, we’ve always been told we would be an excellent band to see at a summer festival so let’s hope we can prove ourselves!”.

If the band could go back to the start of their career and tell themselves something they have learnt now it would be that “you need to respect the band around you and put them above yourself to really gel. It’s something we as a we band have adapted to and it’s made us close musically, but also on a friendship level. You’ve gotta have chemistry, without it you may as well go back to playing Arctic Monkeys covers in your local pub…”.

The bands most fashionable would have to be Jack as he is always trying to push the image of the band. It’s something that as a band they have wanted to go with and develop as another thing unique to them!

Now after that interview you maybe wondering but where did the name ‘Pentire’ come from? Well the story behind it is that band member, Owen, goes down to Cornwall a lot, he saw a headland called ‘Pentire’ and thought it would be a great band name and so they just went with it! That’s it for our interview with Pentire we would definitely encourage you to stream their music, because they are definitely a talented bunch of guys! Thank you for Pentire for being apart of this issue of ISSUE RESET!
