Northern-based indie-rock outfit SHADE’s latest offering comes in the form of ‘Illusive Dreams’; a rousing combination of driving guitars and earworm vocal melodies. The track is to be released and completed with a brand-new music video! The single follows their previous release ‘Fallen Skies’ which garnered a variety of praise from key tastemakers such as ‘Louder Than War’, as well as a high-profile sync on BT Sport.
Lead-singer Luke Owens expands on the story behind the track: “The song itself is about these weird dreams I was having at the time of writing the record and I have always thought the best lyrics come to you in your dreams…we wanted to go down a different route and maybe more psychedelic in a way and with this song I really think we’ve captured the essence of illusive dreams”.
The band are also making waves digitally, with their catalogue boasting over 250,000 streams to date, including notable playlist support overseas via the Indie XL chart in the Netherlands!
SHADE are also quickly establishing themselves as one of the most exciting live-acts to emerge from the region, after recently headlining Off The Square Manchester which sold out in under two weeks. The band also made their landmark debuts at Highest Point Festival and Liverpool Sound City. Shade have already raised the bar for 2022 by announcing their biggest headline show to date at Deaf Institute Manchester which takes place in March.
Wider support includes a feature on Mark Radcliffe’s Showcase TV series, ‘Live From The Edge’, with the Manchester 3-piece also making their vinyl debut on This Feeling’s ‘Big In 2022’ record.
