The Liverpool based singer-songwriter, Euan Blackman is back on today with new single ‘I’m Not Scared’. It is Blackman’s fourth single following the successful release ‘HIGHHIGHHIGH’ which was praised by Radio 1 DJ Jack Saunders and achieved over 10k streams.
Euan Blackman crafts introspective and evergreen songs for rainy road trips with wistful gazes. Now doesn't that sound like a dream scenario! There is something of the past in his music, not retrospect, but memories we all share, tales of the human condition in soft focus. He is regularly enchanted by the magic that defines the work of Phoebe Bridgers and Claude Debussy. These influences that span ages and continents, come together behind his pastel blue bedroom door. Euan Blackman’s music is just starting out, but it feels like you’ve known him for some time, with that recognisable homely feel his music radiates!

‘I’m Not Scared’ begins intimately with Euan’s signature soft layered vocals accompanied with his guitar. As the track progresses, the production builds fuller with electronic elements supporting the folk-core. ‘I’m Not Scared’ features backing vocals from rising folk artist Cooza, an artist with over 2 million streams on Spotify. Euan comments “I’m Not Scared is mainly about living in a less than ideal housing situation. I use a lot of metaphors to do with ghosts and feeling haunted to explain the anxiety-fuelled-sleepless nights experienced.”
As an independent artist, Euan has built a loyal audience of fans on TikTok where he has over 11k followers and over 2.5 million views. His music has been praised by some of his heroes including acclaimed folk artist Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda. He was recently nominated for best solo artist in the Liverpool Love for Music awards amongst the likes of Jamie Webster and Zuzu.
