After supporting Declan J Donovan, playing Brighton Pride and headlining at the O2 Institute Birmingham, intricate harmony queen Eliza May is back with her brand new single “Edge of This” from her upcoming EP “Candy Heart”. Using sassy lyrics & amp; incredibly catchy melodies, “Edge of This” tells the story of that ex who’s not letting go and the journey from lemons to love. It’s about confidently knowing your worth. Eliza takes inspiration from musicians like Hayley Williams, Fickle Friends & The Aces, this sunny indie pop bop is bold & oozes “glow up” vibes!
A quote from Eliza herself is “Edge of This is a song that really portrays the struggle of head verses heart. When you’re happy and have moved on from someone, the last thing you need is your ex coming back to confuse things! I was tired of being in situations like this so I put pen to paper and came up with Edge of This.”
Having a strong passion for music, Birmingham based indie pop artist Eliza May took inspiration from female artists like Hayley Williams and Avril Lavigne to kick start her own music journey. Eliza developed her songwriting and performance skills at Falmouth University and went from busking on Birmingham New Street to playing energetic live shows with her band. Throughout the pandemic, Eliza and her band focused on recording their next EP “Candy Heart”.
“Edge of This” is the first single from the “Candy Heart” collection mixed and mastered by Jamie Farnell (Fretless Audio). The track is accompanied by a colourful music video telling the visual tale of the song through many lemons. To support the release, Eliza will be playing her first London gig at Roadtrip & The Workshop on 6th February as well as playing with her next full band at The O2 Academy Birmingham on 5th March.
